On the 7th of November 2013, the Philippines was hit by Haiyan ( YOLANDA ), a storm travelling at 400 kilometers per hour and causing thousands of deaths . Eleven million Filipinos were involved in the passage of the typhoon. Many of them were left without shelter, food and water.
Since 1987, Father John Gentilin is a missionary in one of the poorest areas of the world, in Tondo , in the slums of Manila. He is also the local landmark of the ” One hand helps the other ” managing aid arriving in favor of ‘association.
As a result of this catastrophe a’ special initiative called “One more effort” was immediately activated to collect money to send quickly to the Philippines helping the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
The association ” One Hand Helps the other ” is constantly active in supporting the development of the poorest population of the Philippines trying to give practical help in projects to support primary, economic and social environment.
